Live streaming on social media is a hot topic. As one of the major broadcasting service providers in Hong Kong, RTHK was looking for high-quality and professional encoder to support live streaming events on its Facebook page, as well as to improve its existing platforms such as RTHK VNEWS ( ) and RTHK City Forum ( ).



Previously, RTHK was using a 3rd party encoding software to run live stream. However, the encoding software was not stable and the live streaming was easily interrupted and it left bad experience and impression to its viewers. Hence RTHK selected HERMES Live encoder, an encoding system which is more reliable, stable, easy to use and able to adopt some customization according to its requirement.

HERMES Live encoder offers stable and seamless live streaming service. In case of any accident on the primary encoder, a backup will take over the streaming task immediately with no interruption.
